Curriculum and Instruction

Being a current classroom educator, I have first-hand contemporary experience for what 21st century instruction looks like. The classroom is no longer a place where a teacher stands in front of a class producing information in the hopes that students are absorbing it. Classrooms are now a student-centered place of culture-building and collaboration. My experience as a teacher and my work with CSU Chico gives me the unique perspective to analyze best practices and curriculum instruction pedagogy.  As a School Board member, we are tasked with analyzing and approving curriculum, training, and resource proposals. Having current experience with today's classroom and Chico's student population in mind, I will know what questions to ask and what experts to seek when making these decisions.
