I am a public school teacher and mother of a bold, wonderful 6 month old daughter. I am running for School Board to bring a fresh, real-world perspective to the leadership of our district. As an eighth year science teacher in Chico Unified, I have proudly had the privilege of educating over one thousand students of Chico families and believe that CUSD is a place where faculty and staff work synchronously to deliver the best well-rounded education for our students. Continuously learning, I make decisions based on empathy and sound scientific reasoning, making me a strong advocate for students and teachers. Creative problem-solving will ensure our schools meet the diverse needs of our students under ever-changing, adverse circumstances. Our Chico schools are the centerpiece of our community. I look forward to my daughter’s first day of school here. Our children deserve an education that is equitable and encourages their unique social, emotional, and intellectual growth. With your support, I will bring creative, evidence-based solutions that will ensure the success of our community’s children in every aspect of their development.
